name: nikki. age: 28. what i’m doing here: making food by cooking recipes from others as i am not smart enough to come up with them on my own. not yet, at least. i work in retail management and cook/bake and take pictures for fun in my spare time. i cook this stuff up from my apartment kitchen in aurora, illinois. with the stress of work and life taking pictures and cooking are some of the few things that truly relax me.
08/22/2010 update:
i get asked a lot what kind of camera i have. so, i figured i would share : )
i use a canon digital rebel xt digital slr camera. the lenses i use the most for my blogging pictures are the 50mm f/1.8 and the 50mm f/2.5 macro. in addition to those, i use a set of macro filters on both the 50mm f/1.8 lens and the 30mm f/1.4 lens. almost all of my pictures are processed through photoshop with cinnamonrose actions, which are designed by two amazing photographers out of san francisco that i found on flickr. the other main component to my pictures is the use of natural light. as mentioned above, i live in an apartment. an apartment that i love. really. minus one teeny tiny {h u g e} thing. no windows in the kitchen. so, i set up shop and carry all of this food back and forth between my kitchen and my living room. i’m kind of amazed that i don’t burn more stuff. i’ve got the routine pretty well down, though, i must say. it may seem crazy, but it’s worth it for the natural light.
I agree!
: )

Hi E! Thanks so much, you guys are too sweet. I use a Canon Digital Rebel XT with a couple of different lenses. My favorite and most used is the 50mm f/1.8. Thanks for checking out the blog!
To think, you honestly thought that I would pick on you… I was in awe with just one look at your blog. Absolutely amazing… Between the pictures and the AWESOME recipes, I may never go back to FXO. Maybe I’ll just stay home and bake and then call L and blame it on you. Haha!
